[Carolina’s tone is just as militaristic as ever, as though she’s making a call straight from Chorus. She holds the pokégear steady despite the squirming, wiggling growlithe in her other arm. Of course, the growlithe can't be seen, but his little wiggly yips can certainly be heard.]

I understand that I— hey, calm down—

[Yeah, hold that thought. Carolina has to put the growlithe down before she’s going to be able to say anything else.

There's a sigh before she starts to talk again.]

I understand this line is a public channel, so if any of my men are hearing this, please send me your coordinates. Or.

Assuming they aren't here, I’d like to put out a request. I’m in charge of a crew of soldiers who refer to themselves as the reds and blues [(though, the way she says that, it sounds more like she’s their babysitter)] and if I’ve turned up here, it’s just as likely they will, too.

If you hear from anyone going by the names Washington, Church, Tucker, Simmons, Grif, Sarge, or Caboose, please send word to me. They can be a bit of a handful, but I’d really appreciate it.

[That last bit is said with a hint of an affectionate smile in her voice.]

[She sounds lost for a moment, as if searching for the next thing to say.]

That is, he hears what she says, but none of it really registers. Maybe later he'll question why she's looking for a bunch of people he's never heard of (barring Washington. God, that poor kid. York never found out whether or not he was okay), but right now, he's caught entirely by that voice, frozen mid-motion on the road to Cherrygrove City. Not even the annoying background music gets through.

When he can finally speak again, the shock has knocked all the posturing out of his voice.]

I don't know those people... but Growlithe is like a puppy. Just play with it and give it a lot of attention. You can train them to be like police dogs, too. That's what the Jenny's here do.

Oh yeah, Growlithe is a fire type. So don't be alarmed when it starts breathing fire.

I find my Growlithe responds well to firm discipline mixed with affectionate reward.

[There's some irritated sounding noise from the growlithe in question, and then a long pause.]

As for finding your men... the situation here can get tricky when it comes to people you know, but it sounds like you found that out already.

Growlithe can be a bit of a handful, but... they're just like any other puppy. They can use fire attacks, but I'm not sure if your little guy has that much experience yet.

As for Growlithes, it sounds like you've already got a good start as far as pointers go, but has anyone talked about its evolution yet? I could probably throw in my two cents either way.
